Hello WNESU Families, Faculty, Staff, and Community,

As we previously shared in an update on January 31, PowerSchool, our student information system vendor, experienced a cybersecurity incident. PowerSchool has stated that the incident had been contained, and they have taken steps to secure their systems.​

PowerSchool has now begun contacting individuals potentially affected by the incident, including WNESU community members. We understand that these emails are being sent from PowerSchool’s third-party provider (CSID/Experian) and include information about the incident and how individuals may enroll in the complimentary identity protection and credit monitoring services offered.​

What You Need to Know:

    Legitimacy: This email is legitimate and expected as part of PowerSchool’s response to notify potentially affected individuals.​

    Email Details: The email will come from PowerSchool Ps-sis-incident@mail1.csid.com and may be captured in spam folders by some email providers.​

    Contents: The email includes information about the incident and PowerSchool’s response, the information that was involved, and information on how individuals may enroll in the complimentary identity protection and credit monitoring services through Experian.​

    Optional Enrollment: Enrollment in the offered complimentary identity protection and credit monitoring services is entirely optional.​

    Enrollment Deadline: Please note that you must enroll by May 30, 2025; after this date, the enrollment code will become invalid. ​For more information on how to take advantage of the offered services through Experian, please visit PowerSchool’s dedicated website for this incident at https://www.powerschool.com/security/sis-incident and https://www.powerschool.com/security/sis-incident/notice-of-united-states-data-breach/.

    PowerSchool Call Center: PowerSchool has established a dedicated call center for this incident. You may contact them directly at 833-918-9464 (Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM CT) if you have any questions.

    Experian Support: You may call the same dedicated support line at 833-918-9464 (Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM CT, excluding major U.S. holidays) for assistance with enrolling in the offered complimentary identity protection and credit monitoring services.

    Online Resources: PowerSchool has published a dedicated website to notify individuals about this incident at https://www.powerschool.com/security/sis-incident and https://www.powerschool.com/security/sis-incident/notice-of-united-states-data-breach/.

WNESU is sharing this information to keep our community informed. Any decision regarding enrollment in these services is at your discretion.
