We begin monitoring the weather the day before, checking forecasts hourly and consulting with transportation teams, town road crews, and superintendents from neighboring districts. Starting at 4:00 AM, we continue monitoring conditions and coordinating with these groups. Our goal is to make a final decision by 5:30 AM.

The decision to delay, cancel, or dismiss early is never an easy one, and weather conditions can sometimes shift unexpectedly. There is no perfect call, but please know that families should always make the decision that is safest and best for them, even if schools remain open.

We aim to make a final decision by 5:30 AM on the morning of a closure or delay. If school is affected by weather or other emergencies, we will notify families and staff through the following channels:

1. District & School Websites – Updates will be posted on our official websites as soon as a decision is made.
2. Automated Calls & Emails – Parents, guardians, and staff will receive a notification via phone call and email. If you do not receive a message, please contact your school to ensure your contact information is up to date.
3. Social Media – Announcements will be shared on our official Facebook pages, which serve as our primary social media platform for updates.

Please note that while we strive for accuracy, weather conditions can change unexpectedly. Families should always make the decision that is safest for them.

If weather conditions require an early dismissal, we will:

1. Notify families and staff through automated phone calls, emails, and posts on our website and Facebook pages.
2. Adjust bus schedules so students can be transported home safely.
3. Cancel all after-school activities, including sports, clubs, and events.

Parents and guardians should ensure their contact information is up to date and have a plan in place for early dismissals. If you have specific concerns about transportation or pick-up, please contact your child’s school.

Yes. When school is closed for the day due to weather or other emergencies, all after-school activities, including sports, clubs, and events, are also canceled unless otherwise communicated.

For any exceptions or rescheduled events, schools will provide updates through their usual communication channels.
