Windham Northeast Supervisory Union has two preschools: WNESU Early Education Center in Bellows Falls and the Athens/Grafton Early Education Center.  These two preschools provide developmentally appropriate preschool programs free of charge to families living in Athens, Grafton, Rockingham, and Westminster.  Any child, 3 years old by September 1st, is eligible to attend one of the Early Education Centers.  We have a current enrollment of 43 children.

Our mission is to provide a healthy, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment in which children can grow intellectually, emotionally, and physically. We provide educational opportunities that inspire children to create, explore, and ask questions.  The Early Education Centers are safe and positive learning environments where each child’s self esteem and uniqueness is supported.

The Early Education Center’s programs include music and movement, art, storytelling, age appropriate reading and math readiness activities, daily “circle time,” outdoor play and field trips. Both programs are a part of the Child and Adult Care Food Program where the children eat a healthy, family style snack every day.

If you are interested in registering your child for one of the Early Education Centers, you may call Jennifer Wolfe at 463-1612 (Bellows Falls site in the Cherry Hill building) or Lisa Stapleton at 869-2633 (Athens site in the old Athens Elementary School).
